We are seeking a skilled South Indian Chef to join our team and bring culinary expertise to our kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare a variety of South Indian dishes, including but not limited to dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, biryanis, and various chutneys.
Develop and refine recipes to ensure consistent quality and authentic taste.
Manage the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in compliance with local regulations.
Oversee inventory management, including ordering ingredients and managing stock levels to minimize waste.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to maintain culinary standards.
Innovate and introduce new menu items, catering to seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Collaborate with management to create weekly or monthly special menus and promotional events.
Monitor portion control and food cost to meet restaurant targets.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a South Indian Chef in a restaurant or hotel setting.
Extensive knowledge of South Indian culinary techniques, ingredients, and traditional recipes.
Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene practices, and kitchen management.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Creativity and a passion for creating new dishes and refining classic recipes.
Culinary certification or formal training in South Indian cuisine is a plus.
